Wai Lam's Birthday (Delayed)

Wai Lam's Birthday on the 20th January 2012.

She wanted a Melody Themed Ice Cream Birthday Cake.
Was quite busy, so i cheated.
I bought pre made cake and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, technically i didn't make the cake.
I just assembled it that's all and decorated it with whipped cream.

Happy Birthday 7th Birthday my dear Wai Lam

Brownies for my main study teacher :D

Today's my main study teacher Kee Yong's birthday, not sure how old he is, thus one candle was used.

Got to know last minute of his birthday so i baked yesterday night and decorated today morning in a total sleeping mood. ZZZzzzz...

Worst still, I forgot to take a picture of my cake after that, so we'll just make do with this picture I guess.

:D

That's all!

Saturday, 5 January 2013

Had my 2nd 21st birthday party celebration
                                                                   with my lovely cousins.

( Sorry, lazy to rotate it. )
Baked my cousins a rainbow cake too but this time with rosette swirls! :D

Had dinner at this all day breakfast place called Wild Honey. The food was on the expensive side, but I thought its quite worth it.

Can't remember all the names of the dishes, but my favourite is the one Amelia Ate, the second one! But overall most of the dishes were great just that the eggs for the egg benedict weren't really poached well, it didn't burst upon cutting up D:

Its my 21st Birthday! :D

Well, as the heading says, its my 21st birthday :D

Always wanted to try decorating with Fondant but never got a chance to because I'm only always baking at home, so i decided to experiment with my first fondant cake which would be on my 21st.
I mean if something goes wrong, I only have myself to blame :D

The cake for my 21st was a 2 tier cake, with the top layer a chocolate cake with chocolate swiss meringue buttercream

    and...
A RAINBOW  CAKE with lemon infused swiss meringue buttercream.
kinda like how light swiss meringue is but it melts very quickly in our weather D:

     all stacked and filled...

    and crumb coated.

Made Cupcakes to give to my guests are gift favours but i was so busy I forgot to give a great
   amount of people...

    The final product, all packed.

Final Product of the cake I made, which was layed with Red Man Fondant and Satin Ice Dark
Chocolate Fondant. Started laying the top tier first with fondant and my heart almost sank when I
saw the fondant tearing apart, but I managed to salvage it at the end, but bottom one was so much
    better.
Verdict: Buy Satin Ice in futre to lay onto cake (Although its much pricier) , but it's much easier.
Red Man's is pretty good for
modelling because it hardens quite easily :D

And the interior of the rainbow cake after it was cut up!
But a pity that the light went off right after I cut it up but i'm glad most enjoyed the cake :D
Personally, I would prefer the chocolate cake at all times but the rainbow cake's just so visually
enticing. Well, I may be biased because I do not really like to eat vanilla, but i love baking all sorts
of cake, but the irony is that I do not have a sweet tooth.

All my gifts and highlights of the party :D
